1920-1930’S

In 1925, Nate Tepperman starts N. Tepperman Ltd. with his door-to-door peddling career. Nate Tepperman then opens his first store on Ottawa Street between Parent and Lilian in Windsor, Ontario in 1929. By 1930, Nate begins building for the future.

1940-1950’s

By 1947, Tepperman’s is the largest and most modern furniture and appliance store of its kind in Windsor. In 1954, a new warehouse is built at the intersection of Ottawa Street and Pierre Avenue. Nate feels that the 30,000 square ft. warehouse is a central location despite its barren surroundings at the time. Nate’s son Bill joins the management team in 1958.

1960-1970’S

In 1962, Nate and Bill start thinking about expanding again in preparation for the future ahead. By 1973, the Tepperman’s warehouse is expanded in order to meet the needs of a growing number of customers. The warehouse is expanded again in 1978 alongside the Windsor store.

1980-1990’S

Tepperman’s expands again in 1981 with the opening of a new location in Chatham. 10 years later, in 1991, Tepperman’s opens a larger store in Chatham to accommodate the increasing number of customers. In 1984, Tepperman’s opens the Bargain Annex. The company continues to expand and opens the Sarnia store in 1993. The London store opens in 1997.

2000-2010

In 2001, Tepperman’s opens a new, larger Sarnia store, the most modern store of its kind in Sarnia. In 2003, a new Chatham store opens. The shiny new store is nearly triple the size of the previous store. In 2008, Tepperman’s expands again with the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art store in London.

2011-2019

In 2014, Tepperman’s celebrates its 90th anniversary and then its 97th anniversary in 2020. After 98 years of business, we remain focused on our customer’s needs by offering a huge selection of products for every room in your home. In 2016, Tepperman’s opens a brand new store in Kitchener. In 2019, Tepperman’s opens a brand new store in Ancaster and re-launches the Bargain Annex as the Outlet at Tepperman’s.

2020-PRESENT

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hits, resulting in major steps forward in technology and e-commerce. In 2024, Tepperman’s opens a brand new store in St. Catharines, and promotes Masoud Negad as the company's first non-blood CEO. In 2025, Tepperman's celebrates its monumental 100th anniversary.
